Hi, we're Ashley and Tim.

Ashley has been coming to the Adirondacks since she was a little girl. Summers up here with her family, the kind of childhood weeks that stay with a person. The lakes, the trails, the long quiet evenings. It is the place she has always measured other places against.

When the two of us started looking for a place of our own, we wanted somewhere we could spend real time, not just a long weekend now and then. Somewhere the Adirondacks could become part of our actual life instead of a once-a-year trip.

We started where everyone starts. Lake Placid, Keene, the towns everyone has heard of. They are beautiful, and they are also busy and expensive, and the more we looked the more it felt like we were chasing a version of the Adirondacks that had already moved on.

Then we found Ausable Acres. The first time we drove in, Ashley said it felt like the Adirondacks she grew up with. Quiet roads, trees in every direction, trails you could walk for an hour without meeting another person. It felt like the place before it got crowded. We were not even looking in Jay. We just fell for it.

We bought the lodge so we could be here more. And we are opening it up so other families can have what Ashley had as a kid. A real Adirondack place to come back to, year after year.

We are not a management company and we are not a big rental brand. We are two people who love this corner of the world and want you to love it too.

The name says what the place is. The Ausable River runs through the neighborhood, and the woods around it run wild for miles. That is the whole idea. Somewhere to get off the crowded trails, move your body, breathe the air, and slow down to the pace of the river.

We are happiest outside and moving. Hiking Clark Mountain straight from the door, skiing the trails in winter, getting out on the water in summer. We have set the lodge up for the kind of guest who wants the same. The trail starts at the driveway. The rest is up to you.

Right now this is one lodge. Our lodge. Over time we hope to bring a small, carefully chosen handful of other homes into the fold, places that meet the same standard and sit in the same kind of quiet. But we are in no rush. One great lodge we are proud of beats a long list we are not.
